Not only is LeBron James one of the best NBA players out there, but he’s also an avid luxury watch collector. A lot of the elite in pro sports have watch collections. For James, being one of the highest paid sport athletes most definitely has its benefits.

With an estimated annual income of $100 million and close to $1 billion in career earnings, according to a report, there’s no questioning how James affords luxury watches worth over $370,000.

Richard Mille, Audemars Piguet, Rolex among his collection

Luxury watch brands are equally invested in LeBron James. As the brand ambassador of Swiss watchmaker Audemars Piguet, the basketball player was generously handed the responsibility of designing a watch of his own liking.

Called the Royal Oak Offshore Chronograph, the self-winding watch features an 18-karat pink gold case with black ceramic and diamond-set pushpiece. It also has a hand-stitched crocodile leather strap. Its price? Just shy of $52,000. Made in 600 exclusive pieces, this rare limited-edition luxury watch is one for the books.

Other gems in his expansive collection include Rolex, Patek Philippe and Richard Mille. Rolex is definitely next in line after Audemars Piguet. And James owns three prestigious classics: Rolex Day-Date II, Rolex Sky-Dweller and Rolex Yacht-Master II. Day-Date II is priced at $43,000 and features a self-winding movement, the signature Rolex fluted bezel, and Roman numerals.

The Sky-Dweller comes with a calibre 9001 movement, a display of two different time zones (perfect for frequent travellers), along with the annual calendar compilation. Meanwhile, the 44mm Yacht-Master II comes in 18-karat yellow gold. It will set you back $62,000.

Watch collection worthy of a king

You wouldn’t expect an NBA player to be wearing an astronomical watch, but James’ interests are as diverse as his luxury watch collection.

The Patek Philippe’s 6102R Celestial timepiece is a real stunner, worth its weight for $278,000. Among many features it has a dial decorated with a rotating chart of heavenly bodies, including the moon’s orbit and the stars’ movement, as seen from the Geneva skies.

However, Swiss haute horlogerie specialist Richard Mille’s signature RM 11-03 is definitely the jewel of his collection. Priced at $377,000, the RM 11-03 is a futuristic design. It has a sports car-inspired skeletonized dial powered by a titanium-based movement.
