The Lucid Air Grand Touring Performance production car just made a fine first impression at the 2022 Goodwood Festival of Speed in Newark California. The Lucid electric car made its first public appearance, and was named the fastest production car in the Hillclimb Timed Shootout at the event.

The 1,050-horsepower Lucid electric car (783 kW) recorded a Hillclimb time of 50.79 seconds. It not only beat out the other production cars but it also finished 12th overall in a competition field of 65 vehicles. Those included purpose-built track cars. That speaks a lot for the powertrain technology behind the car.
The car, the most powerful EV currently available in North America, has an EPA-estimated range of 446 miles. In addition to showcasing Lucid Air Grand Touring Performance, Lucid displayed two additional models at the event. There was the Lucid Air Dream Edition Performance, with 1,111 hp (828 kW) and an EPA estimated range of 471 miles. And there was the Lucid Air Grand Touring, Lucid’s initial volume product, with 819 hp (611 kW). Lucid is an American company, based in Arizona. Deliveries of the Lucid Air Grand Touring and Grand Touring Performance are currently in progress in North America.
Cabot expands golf resort portfolio with acquisition of Castle Stuart in Scotland
Cabot, the developer and operator of luxury residential, resort and golf destinations (including Cabot Cape Breton in Nova Scotia and Cabot Saint Lucia), has added Castle Stuart in the Scottish Highlands to its portfolio.
The centrepiece of the iconic property, soon to be known as Cabot Highlands, is Castle Stuart Golf Links, named among the top 100 courses in the world by Golf Digest and Golf Magazine.
“Castle Stuart has been considered a benchmark of exceptional Scottish golf since it first opened thirteen years ago. We are honoured to be a steward of the land and carry the original vision for the property forward,” said Ben Cowan-Dewar, CEO and co-founder of Cabot. “Our goal is to create unforgettable memories in magical places, and there are few places in the world more awe-inspiring than the Scottish Highlands.”

Panoramic vistas
Routed along the shores of the Moray Firth, the course overlooks panoramic vistas and well-known landmarks including Kessock Bridge and Chanonry Lighthouse. Designed by the late Mark Parsinen and Gil Hanse, Castle Stuart’s rugged natural landscape can be described as a throwback to golf as it once was. The course features holes framed by the water’s edge on one side and bluffs on the other. There are rumpled fairway contours and infinity-edged greens that seem perched on cliffs directly over the sea.
Cabot plans to build a second course there, designed by golf course architect Tom Doak. Real estate will also be part of the project, which will feature upscale cottages, available for rentals when the owners are not staying there.
