However, if you like your home comforts and want to stay in the US, there are plenty of innovative towns and cities dotted across the country that house some of the most magnificent luxury properties on the market.
While New York City and Los Angeles may be home to some of the most luxurious homes, here are other areas you should consider checking out.
San Mateo, California
If you’re a beach lover and the bright lights of NYC don’t appeal, San Mateo may be the right location for you. San Mateo is only a short drive from the sea and has a thriving tech industry. What’s more, the city is known for its diversity, fabulous cuisine, and of course, an extensive list of luxury homes.
When you start looking for San Mateo homes for sale, you may want the help of a San Mateo luxury real estate agent. Having a specialist by your side can narrow down your search and ensure you find a property that has all the features and amenities you desire. You can also streamline the process by going with home buying companies in California that you can trust.

Stamford, Connecticut
While luxury real estate may not be the first thing that springs to mind when you think of Stamford, it’s important to bear in mind how close it is to NYC. Many of the wealthier residents in this city commute to the big apple to work and play, before returning home to their estates. Over 8% of Stamford’s residents are millionaires, so it’s fair to say there are no shortages when it comes to luxury properties in the city.

East Hampton, New York
East Hampton is situated in Suffolk County. This town is considered one of the best areas to live in New York. When you descend on the town, you can’t walk a mile without passing a variety of vintage, elegant mansions that were constructed over 100 years ago. Easy Hampton welcomes New York City’s High Society during the summer months. Because of this, the town has a healthy stream of wealthy investors plowing their money into its real estate every year.
Any of the hotspots listed above are full to the brim with luxury homes. Whatever your budget or personal taste, you’re sure to find a property you’ll fall in love with.

I am a 50-something Torontonian who loves everything about my city. It’s been my home, my playground, for my entire life. I went to school here. I met my wife here. I own real estate here. I love writing about the transformation of my city on the world stage, which hasn’t been anything short of dramatic. That continues on, as I write this. I write on the real estate scene. I write on travel and fashion. I like following the world of luxury watches.
But I love writing about cars – check that, luxury cars, a level of superior, engineering sophistication, high performance and style, that transports you not just from one destination to another but also out of whatever you are going through on a particular day, whatever mood you are in, all to another head space. It’s complete and total exhilaration, head to toe.
