If you’re a true perfectionist when it comes to television, you either own an OLED TV or are trying to decide which OLED set fits you best. OLED stands for Organic Light Emitting Diode, essentially a tiny light that’s capable of either producing or not producing light when needed.
That light can be combined with thousands of others to produce a hugh variety of colors and can vary in brightness as needed. OLED sets are capable of amazing pictures that can faithfully reproduce a wide range of colors and don’t have the same issues as standard LED sets in terms of dull colors and less accurate response. Let’s check out the best of the best for this year!
1. LG C3 Series
The days of LG being a second or third-choice brand are over. LG’s C3 series is head and shoulders above the competition in the OLED market this year. There are four sizes in the line, ranging from 55 to 83 inches. LG includes a proprietary wall mount with the set, allowing it to sit close to your wall.
It features LG’s Micro Lens Array technology, which aims to brighten an already pretty bright OLED panel. LG has also used a newer generation image processor in this line. You can hook up your 4K devices to four 2.1 HDMI ports and enjoy crystal-clear gaming. This set is bright, colorful, and looks fantastic.

2. SAMSUNG S90C Series
The Samsung S90C line comes in four sizes, from 55 inches to 83 inches. The picture on this model is bright and robust; it’s a solid performer. It has 4 2.1 HDMI inputs and features Dolby Atmos for sound output. You’ll likely want to pick up a soundbar with this unit for full-quality sound. It also supports HDR10+, HDR 10, and HLG.
Samsung is using its own version of OLED, “quantum dot,” which features an almost total absence of true white light, relying on the pixels to create whites and other colors, meaning an almost infinite range of colors and a brighter overall picture. This set is a winner from start to finish.

3. SONY A95K Series
It’s impossible to imagine a “Top 5 list” without Sony, and for good reason. After decades in the television market, Sony still has a thing or two to say about high quality. The A95K line provides an amazing picture, and you likely won’t need to invest in additional audio equipment to get great sound out of it.
Sony makes use of their Cognitive XR processor to provide some stunning colors with more than enough brightness to go around. To date, it’s only available in 55 and 65 inches; it’s hard to say whether a larger size is just around the corner. Like most other sets in this range, it features 4 2.1 HDMI inputs and performs brilliantly with gaming systems.
4. SONY A80K Series
No sooner do we mention Sony, and they show up again with a different offering. Available in 55, 65, and 77-inch models, the A80K series isn’t quite the OLED TV the A95K series is, but it’s still a pretty solid entry, and you’ll likely be able to find it for a few dollars less than it’s newer brother. While it’s more than a match for most rooms, this set might struggle with rooms with a lot of natural light near the set. Only two of its four HDMI ports support 2.1 (the others are 2.0b.)
The A80K uses Sony’s Cognitive XR processor, so you’ll still have amazing pictures and great response time from it. The A80K is one of those “unless you compare it directly, you might not notice the difference” type of sets.

5. LG G3 Series
The only reason the G3 isn’t at the top of the list is its larger-than-average price tag. Don’t get us wrong, it’s a beautiful television set. Maybe the most beautiful out there. It’s just that the C3 covers a lot of the same ground to the extent that you might not miss the G3 if you decide to pass.
The G3 has a brilliant picture; it’s responsive and able to give you pretty much any color you’re looking for, and you won’t be lagging while playing video games. There are four 2.1 HMDI ports, and it uses LG’s MLA Micro Lens Array technology to focus the light, reducing any spill and making images sharper and more precise. The set comes in four sizes ranging from 55 to 83 inches. It comes with LG’s proprietary bracket to mount the unit on the wall, like any piece of art.
And there you have it: five great options for OLED TV sets for 2023. If you’re looking to jump into the world of OLED, consider these sets and do a bit of research to find the set that fits your setup the best. You won’t be disappointed.
