Through the darkness there is light. Audemars Piguet, a member of the “Holy Trinity” of luxury watch manufacturers, has released their latest model. It’s a stunning re-interpretation of a classic from the past. And there is no better time than now for a luxury respite like this.

Called the [Re]master01 Selfwinding Chronograph, it’s actually a re-mastering of an Audemars Piguet Chronograph from the 1940s. But this one works in the latest chronograph technology.
Authenticity will be a greater theme in luxury lifestyle post-COVID-19, aficionados getting value in the experience of true craftsmanship. And Audemars Piguet is known for that, as well as innovation and pedigree. Quite simply, they are a luxury watch brand that promotes a spirit of independence. Just the facts: the watch is sized perfectly for any wrist, at 40 mm. It is powered by the exceptionally finished Calibre 4409 that is visible through the glare-proof sapphire crystal caseback. The watch is a throwback, but the movement is most definitely modern day.
The [Re]master01 Selfwinding Chronograph has maintained its two-tone roots, with 18-carat pink golf bezel, crown and push pieces. It has a stainless steel case and lugs.
The dial says quality and sophistication, satin-brushed gold aesthetic, a blue tachymetric scale and minute track. The 12-hour and 30-minute sub-dial hands, and the chronograph seconds hand, are also in blue colour steel. The running seconds, hour and minute hands are in pink gold.
And its value also comes down to its exclusivity – limited edition, just 500 pieces, only available at Audemars Piguet boutiques, for $53,100 USD.
