In luxury news this morning, hockey great Sidney Crosby, a member of the Pittsburgh Penguins and a surefire NHL Hall of Famer after he retires, is taking an ownership stake in Norqain, the Swiss luxury watch company. The three-time Stanley Cup champion, two-time Olympic gold medallist and world champion has endorsed two Norqain watches: The Wild ONE Skeleton 42mm Turquoise and the Freedom 60 Chrono 43mm Black.
“I chose the Wild ONE Skeleton 42mm Turquoise for its lightweight and robust design, making it a perfect fit for my active lifestyle,” Crosby said on the Norqain website. “Meanwhile, the Freedom 60 Chrono 43mm Black, with its sporty design and chronograph function, is my ideal companion off the ice. It adds a touch of style to my wrist while delivering the reliability I look for in a timepiece.”
Norqain is a family-owned business, and Crosby has joined as a shareholder. Norqain was co-founded in 2018 by former NHLer Mark Streit, who was a teammate of Crosby’s in Pittsburgh, winning a Stanley Cup together in 2017.

I am a 50-something Torontonian who loves everything about my city. It’s been my home, my playground, for my entire life. I went to school here. I met my wife here. I own real estate here. I love writing about the transformation of my city on the world stage, which hasn’t been anything short of dramatic. That continues on, as I write this. I write on the real estate scene. I write on travel and fashion. I like following the world of luxury watches.
But I love writing about cars – check that, luxury cars, a level of superior, engineering sophistication, high performance and style, that transports you not just from one destination to another but also out of whatever you are going through on a particular day, whatever mood you are in, all to another head space. It’s complete and total exhilaration, head to toe.
