Luxury News: Jaguar Land Rover Suspending Shipments of Vehicles to U.S.

by | Apr 5, 2025 | Cars, Motor

In luxury news, Jaguar Land Rover announced it is pausing shipments of vehicles to the U.S. for a month as the company sorts out how to deal with the new 25% tariff the U.S. administration has slapped on vehicles coming into the country. Ford is offering consumers employee pricing to boost car sales on their front. Chrysler is offering new pricing as well.

An industry spokesperson on Fox News this morning said there is a huge backlog of Jaguar Land Rover vehicles on car lots across the U.S. – over a year backlog, the person said – so the new pricing on the luxury vehicles won’t impact the American consumer in the short term. The U.S. is the second largest importer of British-made vehicles after the European Union. Of the 780,000 cars built in Britain in 2024, 77% are exported overseas, according to Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders data. Almost 80% of those go to the Top 3 markets – China, the U.S. and the EU.
