There is a lot of life going on, and it’s best to keep on top of everything. The minute things get out of line is the minute it all comes undone. From what you wear to what you drive to where you live to the precious moments in your life, the more you are prepared and the more you are organized the easier your life will be.

Don’t fall behind and lose sight of the better things in life. Here are a few ways you can stay organized and stay ahead this coming year.
Your wardrobe
Don’t spend countless hours sitting on your bed wondering what to wear. Okay, maybe not hours, maybe useful minutes. When you have time off, make sure your winter clothes are organized and your summer clothes are put away. Organize your drawers so that your casual wear is in one place and your formal wear is in another.
When you know where you are heading and what kind of outfit you need to wear, you know where to go to find the right sweaters, coats, scarves, button downs, socks, boots, and shoes. You can now spend your getting ready time making sure your hair is perfect and you’re feeling good.
Your car
Organize your car. There is a psychological belief that if your space is cluttered your mind is cluttered, and the last thing you need while you are driving is a cluttered mind. There is something to be said about sliding into a well-organized machine that makes you feel clear and in control while you are on the road.
This is an ongoing habit of making sure you put things away and don’t ever leave trash in your car. When others get in your car they will have more respect for the vehicle seeing that it is well maintained. Put umbrellas in the trunk and make sure things are smelling good so that you can feel like a god on the road.
Your phone
Organize your phone as often as possible. Make sure emails are up to date and in their proper folders, and make sure apps are up to date and in their proper folders as well. If you don’t know already, learn how to back up photos to iCloud so that you don’t lose a moment of the great life you are leading.
Your time
Time is a hot commodity, so don’t waste it. A lot of people like to put everything in their phone, but that causes too much noise. Get a trusty agenda that you can carry around with you with your most important appointments and reminders. When you physically write something down, you are more likely to remember it.
Every night before bed and every morning when you wake up, open your agenda to the current day and make sure you know where you need to be and what needs to get done. This will eliminate unwanted surprises and anxiety and you will feel in control of your day.

I am a 50-something Torontonian who loves everything about my city. It’s been my home, my playground, for my entire life. I went to school here. I met my wife here. I own real estate here. I love writing about the transformation of my city on the world stage, which hasn’t been anything short of dramatic. That continues on, as I write this. I write on the real estate scene. I write on travel and fashion. I like following the world of luxury watches.
But I love writing about cars – check that, luxury cars, a level of superior, engineering sophistication, high performance and style, that transports you not just from one destination to another but also out of whatever you are going through on a particular day, whatever mood you are in, all to another head space. It’s complete and total exhilaration, head to toe.
