Wonder what the view of Toronto will look like sitting out on the deck of the city’s tallest skyscraper? Just over $31.6 million will buy you this penthouse in The One Toronto. That’s the 85-storey tower going up on the southwest corner of Yonge and Bloor. It was just listed here.
Yonge and Bloor is the “nexus of the city” as Sam Mizrahi, the president of Mizrahi Developments, the project developer, once told us. Mizrahi Developments is working to get permits to make the building taller – to 338.3 metres, or 94 storeys. That would make The One the tallest building currently planned in Canada, pushing the total condo suites to 505 (an additional 89 suites).
The changing face of Yorkville
There’s an ongoing fluid battle among developers to score the tallest building in Toronto. Yorkville is going through significant changes in luxury real estate development. The neighbourhood’s traditional boundaries have been roughly Bloor St. to the south, Davenport Rd. to the north, Yonge St. to the east, and Avenue Rd. to the west. Along Bloor St. sits one of Canada’s most exclusive and expensive shopping districts.
There will be the rise of iconic, high-rise projects like the The One, and buildings like Four Seasons Private Residences Toronto. But there is also low-rise, more boutique offerings, lower density buildings for affluent buyers looking for larger spaces. In ten years, Yorkville will look very different than the Yorkville of our youth.
Penthouse 8202 at The One features five bathrooms, three bedrooms, an outdoor pool, eat-in kitchen. It will have plenty of windows with custom benches to take in city views, a modern design, 10-foot ceilings, and sits at 4,351 square feet.
In terms of amenities, The One will offer residents true personalized concierge service, and a 3,000 square foot garden terrace, heated year-round. There’s an Infinity pool, fitness area, restaurants and cuisine. Residents will have underground parking. The Andaz Hotel will be situated among ten floors of The One, with 200 rooms of luxury hospitality.
