One of the topics we cover in detail at Regarding Luxury is what’s new in luxury cars, so National Road Trip Day, on May 24, has some added significance for us. If you’re going to spend that much money on a car, you want to take it to places where the best in car technology meets the visual impact of the surrounding scenery.
To celebrate National Road Trip Day, Betway analyzed the best road trips across the United States and Canada, to find out the most popular routes – using Instagram, and the number of hashtags for each road trip.
No. 1, covering 3,940 kilometres (2,448 miles) across six states, is Route 66, with #route66 having 2,211,835 posts on Instagram. No. 2 is Florida Keys, spanning 120 miles (2,164,767 hashtags). The Canadian Rockies, a mountain range spanning across British Columbia and Alberta, including peaks like Mount Robson and Mount Columbia, was No. 3, with 1,292,755 posts.
Personally, the Pacific Coast Highway, No. 6 on the list, with 435,730 hashtags, will always reign supreme. The photo below features my wife, and the 2019 BMW M850i, during a road trip five years ago down U.S. Route 1 from Seattle to Los Angeles. This stopover was along the Oregon coast.
