RICHARD MILLE AND FERRARI ANNOUNCE MULTI-YEAR PARTNERSHIP

Synchronize your watches to top speed. The prancing horse Ferrari and the iconic Swiss watchmaker Richard Mille have signed a multi-year partnership agreement this week. It allows both multinational corporations to jointly sponsor, promote and develop each other’s luxury brands.

“Nothing says luxury performance like a Richard Mille,” says Watch Your Style YouTuber and jewelers sales representative, Eric Rivera. “Very rarely have I sold a Richard Mille to a client that hasn’t had a nice sports car.”

They will promote each other’s brands. Ferrari and Richard Mille will also create a think tank by merging their research and design teams. In the end, they hope to create an exclusive range of limited edition watches.

“Pure performance. These are watches that are very sporty. Besides the fact that they are ultra-luxury pieces, I would say that they are ultra-sporty pieces,” says Rivera. “It’s something targeted towards the guy that likes the fancy sports car. There is always going to be a direct correlation between the two.”

Some of the particulars in the agreement include Ferrari’s display of the Richard Mille brand on the team’s helmets and seats in the next F1 Season. Richard Mille will support the Italian manufacturer’s motorsport activities as the “Official Timekeeper”.

Salespeople love the Italian/Swiss connection

“If tomorrow they’re using some crazy thing for a Formula 1 car, they’re going to integrate into a watch somehow,” says Rivera. “I think this watch goes perfect with a Ferrari. I’ve always liked the strap of an RM. It has either that aerodynamic ventilation from a car, or I like to call them shark gills. It looks real sexy.”

“Prices are a little crazy with these watches right now and the demand is so high on them you can’t just walk into a boutique and think you’re buying a toaster from target,” says Rivera. “There’s a waiting list and if you want one today, you’re probably going to be paying 40 to 50 grand over the sticker price.”
